ABOUT THIS SUMMIT:
Hale Inc. is a youth-led multidisciplinary global health and biotechnology organization that curates initiatives in education, data-centered policy, and innovation. Our annual summit aims to eliminate multidimensional poverty and uplift the voices of real people through the lenses of sustainable development capacity building, human rights, global trends, and more.
By participating in the first youth-organized summit entailing “STS”, global health, and sustainable development at Stanford, students will understand Hale’s framework of educating through multi-sectoral partnerships as well as through accelerating the Science, Technology, and Society for Global Health vision with the UN.

CENTRAL DIALOGUE:
Multidisciplinary Collaboration within the fields of health;
Focus on Universal Health Challenges (i.e. climate change, data-centered policies, tech regulations, biotechnology innovations in developing countries, poverty elimination, mental health);
How Global Health is at the core of societal progress through the lens of sustainable innovation through building global partnerships;
Discussion of AI policy reform in Africa;
Merging academia and policy through the Policy Accelerator.
AGENDA BREAKDOWN:
Day 1

Participate in cutting-edge research seminars in biotechnology, STS innovation, and sustainability ethics. Furthermore, the current frameworks for the health system will be evaluated holistically, placing an emphasis on global issues of climate change, mental health, in addition to global health technology. Students will hear from professors, postdoctoral researchers, labs, student organizations, and more to present their work and will open the floor for discussion to students for inquiry.

Policy Accelerator: A working model of sustainable healthcare for the most vulnerable.
The HalexStanford Policy Accelerator will serve to investigate political determinants of health for evaluating disadvantaged and marginalized communities to explore and discuss how human rights and justice can enhance global health. Promoting dialogue on global health disparities, the intersections between digital health, sustainable development, delivery and management science will be discussed to tackle the roots of multidimensional poverty. Hear from UNDP, professors, lab pioneers, and global NGO leaders on social medicine and core societal progress.
